Why do we need vitamins?

Have you ever wondered why do we need vitamins? There is nature made in the market today, vitamins for energy and concentration, and other promising anti-aging effects. But why is it that we really need them?It helps our body performs various biological processes. There are several vitamins that affect all the organs of our body. This is the reason why they are considered natural substances that help our body to perform important tasks, such as growth and healing. Without them, our body can not function properly!

There are 13 vitamins that interact with our cellular enzymes to normalize a variety of essential bodily functions. They are vital to many of our metabolic processes, to release energy from nutrients, and in the construction and maintenance of bones, teeth, skin, blood, and many other tissues within the body.Weight loss products and anti-aging foods are rampant in the market, but we have to be very careful in choosing which one to take. Why this nature is not made, but rather supplements that contain synthetic ingredients and can sometimes damage and not help our body to perform its best time.So we have to stick to nature made vitamins, since they are Mae for energy and concentration that focuses on our main organs. The fruits and vegetables we eat are full of vitamins.
Various fruits and vegetables provide vitamins that help our body with specific things. Our body uses nature made vitamins such as vitamin A, which nourish our cells and allows proper maturation. Vitamin A is found in foods such as carrots and green leafy vegetables and is responsible for keeping your sight in good health. Our body uses vitamin D for bone growth. In addition, it helps the body absorb calcium. Sunlight is the main source of vitamin D, but it can also be achieved with egg yolks, fish oil, and milk. Carrots, pumpkin, and sweet potatoes are sources of vitamin A.These are compounds that are necessary for our growth and normal functioning, we can not do inside our body, so we must get our food. Most compounds within nature made the life we need for our body cells to work can be done by our cells for other nutrients. For some reason, we developed without the ability to make the small number we call the vitamin. We were present in large quantities in common foods during development, so we do not need to do them. We only need small amounts of vitamins, and they are still present in large quantities in many foods, but it is possible to become deficient in vitamins, and that harms health. In conclusion, there is no value in vitamins that they consume, especially that which is necessary, in the integrators that are unfortunately still allowed to be sold in the market. That can really harm your health. That's why I said before that you have to be careful in choosing what supplement to take. Vitamin supplements are recommended, however, only in certain situations, as defined by scientific research.

Good Health Naturally: We all want to have a health of steel and improve our general condition.

We all want to have a health of steel and improve our general condition. After years looking for a formula to know what to do when having a good health I have come to the conclusion that I can unite the most important points to take into account in ten tips that we should not overlook. On this occasion, I want to share with you an experience that belongs to all of us, and that is to know what we must do to be in shape and achieve good health.

Practice Sport:
Realization of the sport. Sport is one of the best ways to stay young and in perfect condition, as it helps our body to be active and our muscles to stay toned and strong. When doing sports it is necessary to be constant and perform at least three sessions per week, regardless of the activity, since the ideal is to vary and avoid getting used to the same activity. Personally, I consider that variety is essential to the time to do sports, as well as not getting tired we will get better results because our body must always face a new challenge.

Respect the rest:
Rest another point that has to be taken into account, and it is important that we sleep between seven or eight hours a day so that our body is in perfect condition. Rest is essential to recover our muscles after training and daily activity. Do not forget that sleep will also help us achieve better oxygenation and skin condition, as well as the better overall functioning of all the organs of our body.

Maintain an adequate diet:
Maintain a diet that must be varied. Following a diet in which different types of food are present is essential to achieve good health. Our body is prepared to assimilate all kinds of food and all these foods will provide us with a series of nutrients necessary to achieve good health. That is why it is necessary that we use all kinds of food. The advice I give you is to acquire the Mediterranean diet as an example, as it allows a varied and balanced diet.

Beware of saturated fats:
Leaving aside saturated fats and their abuse is another tip. It is important that we eat fats since our body needs them to be able to live, but it is important that we know what types of fats are adequate to maintain good health. We must opt for the monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats that our body will make the most of and which will help us stay in perfect condition.

Make five meals:
Do not skip any food is essential to be in top form. Going hungry is the worst thing we can do when it comes to staying healthy. It is necessary to maintain a control of the hours of the meal and respect it. Making five light meals a day is the right thing to do. An advice that I will give you is to think about the amount of food we consume per day and divide it into five meals, that is, you do not have to eat more food for having more hours of food, but eat the same, but more spread out to get control hunger and keep the line better.

Eat fruits and vegetables:
Including fruits and vegetables in the diet is essential to keep us in top shape. Fruits will provide us with vitamins and minerals necessary for the correct functioning of the body. A point to keep in mind about fruits and vegetables is their high fiber content, which will help us to purify our organism.

Avoid stress:
Relaxing and avoiding stressful situations on a daily basis will help us to have better health. I believe that it is necessary to have activities that help us to escape from the daily routine. Relaxation sessions, yoga, hobbies, sports ... Any activity that relaxes us is highly recommended to be in perfect conditions.

Avoid alcohol and tobacco:
Needless to say, it is necessary to avoid excesses in our lives and vices such as alcohol and tobacco that will worsen our health at different levels, in addition to accelerating the natural aging process of the human body. Controlling this is essential when it comes to maintaining good health. I simply recommend changing the chip and weighing what these vices give us with what we assume at the level of health.

Adequately rehydrate:
We can never ignore, and it is a correct hydration. Much of the composition of our body are liquids. Water is fundamental to life, and as such we must provide our body with the quantities it needs. Therefore it is necessary to ingest an average of two liters of fluid per day to maintain proper health in each and every one of the organs of our body.

Planning and control of habits:
The last important advice is planning and control when it comes to maintaining good habits. Establish a meal schedule, another with the control of meals and dishes to prepare to preserve the variety in our meals, as well as other hours to train and practice sports. This simple gesture is one of the best ways to achieve the goals we have set for ourselves and to maintain total control of what we are doing.

What are fats? Are All Fats Bad?

Fats are a very diverse group of macronutrients and are present in both animal and vegetable foods. With 9 calories per gram, fat is the densest caloric source required by the human body. However, not all fats are the same and it is crucial to pay attention to the types of fat that you include in your diet. Some fats are healthy, some are fairly neutral, while others are actively damaging to your health.
The War on Fat began in the late 1980s and ushered in an era of high-sugar, high-carb, and low-fat foods. You may remember the resurgence of the Atkins Diet and the introduction of books on the Mediterranean Diet from the late 1990s that finally made dietary fat socially accepted and medically recommended again. The truth is that a diet that includes the right kind of fat is not only beneficial but frankly important for your health.

What Fats do in the Body
Fats perform a number of functions in the body, such as helping to absorb certain micronutrients and keep skin and hair healthy. The process of creating, storing and using fat is the way the body keeps energy in balance. Fats allow your body to absorb and accumulate fat-soluble vitamins in liver tissue and adipose tissue. Vitamins A, D, K, and beta-carotene normally have an absorption rate of about 80%, while vitamin E is absorbed in a rate of about 20%. In one study, the absorption of vitamin D simply increased, by adding fat to the food. When the fat content of the meal was 30% of the number of calories, the absorption of vitamin D3 improved significantly. Fat is responsible for creating basic metabolic processes that regulate growth, immune function, and reproductive development. If you're trying to limit your fat intake, consume no less than 6% of your calories in the form of fat to keep these systems functioning properly. At the other end of the spectrum, limit your fat intake by 20-35% of your total daily calories. Since fat contains more than twice the calories of protein or carbohydrates, excessive consumption can lead to weight gain.

Absorption and Storage of Fats
Most dietary fats are "triglycerides". These are composed of three hydrocarbon chains of fatty acids attached to a glycerol skeleton. During the digestive process, bile decomposes triglycerides in the small intestine so that they can be absorbed into the bloodstream through the liver and either directed to the cells for immediate use or sent to lipocytes (fat cells) for its storage and subsequent use.

Metabolism of Fat Reserves
When your body is nourished by its energy reserves, the first reserves it uses are carbohydrates, which are stored in the form of branched chains of glycogen in the muscles and liver. People only store enough carbohydrates to feed 20-30 minutes of vigorous activity. After that, your body uses fat reserves as an energy source. Lipases are the enzymes that break down fat reserves to obtain energy for the mitochondria. The metabolism of fat is aerobic (requires oxygen molecules) and takes place in the mitochondria. The metabolism of carbohydrates is anaerobic (does not require oxygen) to release energy.
In addition to providing an abundant energy source in calories, visceral fat protects the organs of the abdominal cavity from possible damage. Subcutaneous fat isolates muscles and helps regulate body temperature.

Types of Fat
Food fat may be essential or non-essential. Essential fatty acids, such as omega-6 (linoleic acid) and omega-3 (alpha-linolenic), cannot be produced by the human body - we should consume them. There are several sub-classifications of these fats, such as ALA and DHA, which are distinguished by their chemical structure. The body depends on the essential fatty acids for blood coagulation, neuronal development and the management of inflammation.
Non-essential fatty acids are still important for the body but can be produced by the body internally with adequate resources. Saturated fat is not essential in a nutritional sense, but it is important for hormonal regulation in the body.
Whether a fat is saturated or unsaturated depends on the number of hydrogen atoms attached to the carbon chain that makes up the triglyceride. If the fatty acid is saturated, it has no double bonds between the carbon atoms. The fatty acid chain is completely saturated with hydrogen atoms. If there are double bonds between two carbons in the chain, the fatty acid is monounsaturated or polyunsaturated, depending on the number of double bonds in the chain. Saturated fats are solid at room temperature because the hydrocarbon chains are closer. These linear chains can come together at the molecular level and become denser. The mono- and polyunsaturated fats are twisted or doubled by their carbon double bonds, preventing the chains from accumulating on top of each other.
All combinations of fats of natural origin are composed of a mixture of polyunsaturated, monounsaturated and saturated fatty acids. The physical state of the fat at room temperature is determined by the most prevalent type of fatty acid. In olive oil, the monounsaturated fatty acid is dominant, so it is liquid at room temperature. Butter is mostly composed of saturated fatty acids, so it is solid at room temperature.

What are trans fats?
Trans fats are the famous fats that the media has talked about so much over the past decade, making manufacturers of processed foods angry. In July 2015, the US authorities announced the approval of a national ban on these dangerous fats that promote cardiovascular disease by increasing LDL (bad) cholesterol and lowering HDL (good) cholesterol. Trans fats are the product of the hydrogenation of the carbon double bonds of fatty acids so that they are completely saturated with hydrogen atoms, converting healthy fats into saturated fats. Hydrogenation increases the shelf life, palatability and texture of processed foods, but contributes to cardiovascular disease. Trans fats are also found in small amounts in meat and dairy products, but the amount is negligible.
Trans fats are being phased out of the US food supply but, in the meantime, avoid foods that contain trans fat, such as:
• Coffee cream substitutes for coffee
• Salty and sweet cookies, cakes, frozen cakes and other baked goods
•        Fast food
•        Frozen pizza
• Prepared icing
• Refrigerated dough products (such as cookies and cinnamon rolls)
Trans fats are structurally different from ordinary saturated fats. They cause diseases and should be avoided completely.

What are saturated fats?
Saturated fats are found mainly in products of animal origin such as meat and dairy products, but there are a couple of sources of plant origin such as palm kernel oil, coconut oil and cocoa butter (chocolate fat) ). These fats are solid at room temperature. Although coconut oil and cocoa butter have good qualities, saturated fats from animal products should be avoided as they can raise blood cholesterol and increase the risk of heart disease and stroke. If you are trying to prevent or slow the development of cardiovascular disease, it is imperative to keep the total calories from saturated fat a day to no more than 6%.
Chocolate is unique since most of its saturated fat comes from stearic acid, which is a fatty acid that actually reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. If you decide to include it in your diet, make sure that the only fat in the ingredients is cocoa butter or stearic acid. Low-quality chocolate usually includes milk fat or other saturated fats.

What are Unsaturated Fats?
It is often said that unsaturated fats are healthy fats because they cause the opposite effect of saturated fats. Unsaturated fats reduce LDL cholesterol and increase HDL cholesterol. The consumption of these fats can reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. Unsaturated fats are concentrated in the oils found naturally in fish, nuts, seeds and some fatty fruits. They can be monounsaturated or polyunsaturated.

Monounsaturated fatty acids
It is often said that monounsaturated fatty acids are "heart healthy" because they lower LDL cholesterol, reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes. The highest concentrations are found in olive, sunflower and safflower oils, as well as in avocados and most nuts. The oils from these sources also provide vitamin E, a fat-soluble vitamin.

Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids
Polyunsaturated fatty acids, also known as PUFA, make up the predominant fat in fish (such as salmon), vegetable oils and some nuts and seeds. The omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated and cannot be synthesized by the body.
The general consensus is that most people should consume more omega-3 fatty acids and less omega-6 to reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases related to diet that affect Western societies. Omega-3 fatty acids can help slow the development of arterial plaque, reduce triglycerides and reduce the risk of arrhythmia.

What is high cholesterol?
The excess cholesterol in the blood is called high blood cholesterol. High cholesterol can lead to heart disease, so it's important to be aware of your cholesterol status. Doctors usually perform a panel of lipoproteins, also called a lipid profile, to determine your situation. The test measures three forms of fat in the blood:
• Low-density lipoproteins (LDL): "bad" cholesterol, the main source of cholesterol in your body. High levels of LDL in the blood can lead to atherosclerosis and increase the risk of heart disease and stroke. The purpose of LDL is to bring cholesterol to the cells, which can accumulate in the walls of the arteries.
• High-density lipoproteins (HDL): "good" cholesterol that carries cholesterol from cells and walls of blood vessels to the liver to remove it from the body.
• Triglycerides: the free fatty acids that are transported in the blood and used as energy. A combination of high triglyceride levels, low HDL, and high LDL may increase the risk of a heart attack or stroke.
Experts recommend a total cholesterol level below 200 mg/dl. The following table describes the different categories of cholesterol levels.

Total cholesterol

What to do to keep your cholesterol under control
What to do to keep your cholesterol under control
To keep your cholesterol levels under control, I recommend a diet of raw foods. Vegetarians usually have cholesterol levels significantly lower than omnivores, and vegans usually show the lowest. If a diet based on raw foods is not realistic for you, it is best to avoid processed foods and eat a lot of green leafy vegetables, healthy nuts and vegetable oils such as flaxseed. You should pay attention to the partially hydrogenated oils on the nutrition labels; Even if a package says "0 grams of trans fat" it can still contain a maximum of 0.5 g of trans fat in each serving. Try to reduce or eliminate the consumption of saturated fats and cook with extra virgin olive oil.
One of the most delicious ways to regularly cleanse your body of excess cholesterol is to eat more fiber. Research indicates that bile acids, which are synthesized from cholesterol, bind to soluble fiber in the intestines. This bile is eliminated from the colon later and the body must use more cholesterol that it extracts from the blood to synthesize more bile. Eat foods rich in soluble fiber such as oats, whole grains, legumes and citrus fruits to lower cholesterol.
Fats are an essential part of a healthy diet, but you should be aware of what you are eating. Do you have information about food fats? Leave a comment below and share.

What to do when pregnant?

If you are pregnant, you should avoid harmful habits more than ever, which can seriously interfere with the development of your baby. Smoking, drinking alcohol or consuming a lot of caffeine are some examples. During pregnancy, you must also avoid exposure to x-ray sources. You should consult your doctor before taking any medication. We recommend you exercise and take care of the food.

Not all women have to change their lifestyle during pregnancy.

If before you became pregnant you led a healthy life, not only the changes you will have to make in your life will be minimal; probably, also the discomforts of pregnancy will be minor.
But ... what exactly does "a healthy life" mean? For any woman, a healthy lifestyle involves doing some physical exercise, eating a balanced diet, not overdoing coffee or alcohol, not self-medicating ...

If you are pregnant, you should be aware that your lifestyle directly influences the fetus and determines the health of the future baby.
There are certain habits that definitely harm the fetus and endanger its development. Solve your doubts by reading our article about healthy habits during pregnancy, and enjoy a healthy pregnancy.

Smoking in pregnancy, an added risk to the fetus

In addition to the risks involved in smoking for the health of any person, during pregnancy, there is an added risk for the development of your future baby.
Nicotine is especially harmful to the fetus, because it hinders the arrival of oxygen through the placenta, preventing the development of your child in pregnancy. It is shown that smoking in pregnancy increases the likelihood of miscarriage, premature delivery, IUGR (intrauterine growth retardation) and sudden infant death.
If you do not feel able to stop smoking, you can try to reduce the number of cigarettes during pregnancy, to avoid running these unnecessary risks. Although the advisable thing is that you abandon this habit. In any case, consult with your doctor possible solutions to stop smoking during pregnancy.

Alcohol in pregnancy affects your future baby

It is proven that alcohol abuse during pregnancy can cause physical, mental and behavioral problems in the future baby, such as nervousness, hyperactivity or attention problems. In addition, during pregnancy, the risk of having an abortion increases.
It is known that drinking women can develop what is known as Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, which produces serious malformations in the fetus. Therefore, it is best to always avoid drinking alcohol during pregnancy.

During pregnancy, you should never self-medicate or take any medication without consulting your doctor. The gynecologist is the one who should advise you if you need medication or prescribe the appropriate doses if you present any typical discomfort of pregnancy
Some drugs that are available without a prescription in the pharmacy can be very harmful to the baby's development or cause serious birth problems. Therefore, always consult your doctor before taking any drug, as innocuous as it may seem or customary for you to use it.

Avoid the risks of radiation in pregnancy

First of all, we must distinguish between ionizing radiation and non-ionizing radiation. The second, present in color televisions and microwave ovens, do not involve any risk to the fetus.
Ionizing radiation, such as x-rays, used to make x-rays, or for cancer treatments, can cause congenital malformations if they are performed on pregnant women.
Therefore, if you are pregnant and have to have an x-ray, notify the health personnel of your state so that they adopt the corresponding preventive measures.
If you consider that in your workplace you are exposed to sources of ionizing radiation that may endanger the health of your child, it is likely that you can take advantage of the economic benefit when there is a risk for pregnancy.

Pregnancy and drugs: an impossible relationship!

The consumption of drugs such as marijuana or cocaine during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester, is very harmful to the fetus.
Marijuana has effects similar to those of tobacco during pregnancy: it prevents the fetus, in full development, from receiving the necessary amount of oxygen.
Cocaine use is very dangerous during pregnancy, maybe more than any other substance. The risk of miscarriage and premature delivery increases considerably.
Talk to your doctor if you want to overcome addiction to any substance that is harmful to your child, during pregnancy and lactation.

Childhood infections during pregnancy

Viral infections such as chicken pox, rubella or mumps, associated with childhood, can contract during adulthood.
If you are pregnant and have already passed these diseases in childhood, you do not have to worry about anything, because your body has developed the antibodies that protect against them. However, if you have not gone through any of these diseases, you have to take into account the risks they entail for the health of the fetus.
Chickenpox can cause the death of the fetus or serious malformations in the baby, especially if it is contracted during the first months of pregnancy. The risks of getting rubella during pregnancy are equally serious, and they decrease as the pregnancy progresses, without disappearing. Rubella in pregnancy can be a cause of blindness, deafness and heart problems in the future baby.

Consult your doctor about the possibility of vaccinating these diseases.
Caffeine during pregnancy: how much less, better!

It is likely that at some point during your pregnancy, you will feel the typical fatigue of the pregnant woman. Especially during the first and third trimesters of pregnancy, almost all women experience this sensation.
However, it is not a good idea to increase your coffee intake to cope with pregnancy fatigue. Coffee, as well as isotonic drinks or tea, are stimulants that block the absorption of iron, producing anemia in the pregnant woman.
Anemia can cause abortion if you have it during pregnancy. Therefore, we recommend that you limit your dose of coffee or tea, and try to rest as much as possible while you get used to the hormonal changes of your pregnancy, which are the reason why you feel so tired.
Exercise to overcome the fatigue of pregnancy!

If you had a rather sedentary lifestyle before becoming pregnant, it is advisable that you reserve a few minutes each day to perform moderate exercise: swimming or walking are excellent exercises to maintain physical tone and promote the optimal development of pregnancy.
